Enchanted

Hi! I made it to Friday in one piece, and I can't wait to start the weekend and get knitting!

I have a FO this week, the Enchanted Pullover.  My tiny helpers took some pictures and since I seem to have lost the photo editor on this computer for the time being, you get them as they are!

The pattern was free, and easy, but I wouldn't be me if I hadn't messed it up in one way or another. I got there in the end though. The yarn is Supa 100% wool, so wearing it is nice and warm. It is more form fitting than I normally would wear, but it was actually fun to knit something "fitted."

I also discovered that to bind off "loosely" I need to go from a 6mm to a 9mm needle.  I also had to extend the arm holes on this, but that could be purely down to my body shape.

All in all.  Happiness occurred with this project. I have yet to wear it though, so I'll know more later.  Here's a pic to leave you with, the moon tonight.

Have a wonderful weekend and happy crafting!

One of those weeks

Well, it has been one of those weeks. I am already looking forward to the weekend, even though it seems like it will take such a long time to get there.

Terribly dark picture, but that's how it goes.
Monday night I had a terrible headache by the time I got home from work. I haven't had one this bad in a while. Not even a lovely head massage from my two little magic-handed girls did me any good. I finally had to throw in the towel and go to bed early. Such a shame too, that no knitting took place. I've just started a new top-- Baby cables and big ones too. I love this sweater, and can't wait to get stuck in. So far all I've got is a few rows and lots of stitch markers! Ah well, something to look forward to for the weekend.

This picture is to show that I AM making progress unpacking all our boxes and saying "hi" to my crafty stuff again. The basket on the left is full of hibernating projects (for shame!), and the bag on the right holds my scrap crochet blanket.  The blanket is so beloved I might just work on it a little bit after I post this.

Now, instead of more knitting, I'll leave you with a few pictures of some kangaroo's we saw on a walk last week. I've been eager to see some since we arrived, and Rori spied about ten of them along the lake shore. Lovely!

I've got more pictures of our Australian adventure posted on my other blog. You can check it out by clicking on the link at the top with the picture of the dog.

Happy Crafting!

Not a stash busting year

Is it wrong that I ordered yarn to be delivered to Australia from the USA? Perhaps it was just laziness. If I've got any fellow Down Under friends that can recommend a great place to buy yarn online here in Australia, I'm listening. Until I get that figured out (there are only so many hours in the day), I had this delivered from the Home Country.

That should last me a wee while, and cover three (four if you count each of the girls cardigans) projects. Man I love yarn. This box made me so happy. You can tell I'm in the mood for grey, can't you?

My current post-move stash, until the rest arrives

This will not be a stash busting year at all, mostly because it is April and I haven't seen my stash since I packed it all up in December. I am going to be reunited with it in just a few weeks now, we've had word our belongings are in Melbourne. Of course, they need a few weeks to clear AQIS, but it will be soon!!

In the meantime, I'm trying to be monogamous to this vest I started before the new wool arrived. I expect I will last a day. Or two. Maybe three as the work week starts up again tomorrow.

I'm working on The Enchanted Pullover which is a free pattern. I'm using more Supa 100% wool, mainly because it was on clearance and it will be warm. You can't tell very well in the picture, but it is a beige color.

That's all from me this week, I can't wait to see what you guys are working on as well!

Infinitude Wurm

I'm really very excited I got the promotion I applied for at work. I've only been there 6 weeks, and this new job is a good step up. The best part is that it is 8-5, no more late shifts, no more threat of night shifts.  Happiness.  Also, hopefully more time to get back to the blog.  Hurray!

In March I made an infinitude scarf. I loved it so much I wanted a matching hat. I'd been eyeing the Wurm pattern for quite some time, and it matches perfectly. Both are free patterns, and both are fun. Easy, yet not boring. My favorite. Plus, the Wurm has a double thickness brim, which is brilliant.  Prepare yourself for some terrible pictures.  Really. They are bad.  Sorry.

I used Supa yarn, 100% wool. I've been informed cooler weather is on the way, perhaps I'll get to give them a try before too long.

Take care and Happy Crafting!
