In knitting news, I've been re-energized about socks! I have a project bag that I keep in the car with a sock I would work on now and then--while waiting for the girls at netball practice, the park, etc. But I felt it had been languishing, so I fished it out and finished it. I love the stripes! I'm counting it as a FO, even if it is just one so far.
Pattern: just a plain stockinette sock to show off the stripes, with the heel from Hermiones socks.
Yarn: Patons Stretch Sock
Then I got motivated to knit my sister a pair of yoga socks for her Christmas present. She has posted a picture of herself in some rather silly looking yoga socks (they were the ones that have individual toes) on FB, and I thought, I want to give that a go. They were so fun to knit!!
I also amused myself that I was wearing my yoga pants when I took these pictures. Nope, I don't do yoga, but look at me all kitted out should I ever want to.
Pattern: Yoga Socks 153 (free!)
Yarn: stash busted some Zettl Cesana I've had for a really long time.
That's it for my this week, see you all on Wednesday.
Your socks look great, I love that striped one!
ReplyDeleteLove both socks! I do like the heel from the Hermoine socks. Now that I've knit a few pair of socks, I am starting to get an idea of what works and doesn't for my knitting style. I had a bunch of spam in my feed too. I really need to clean my list up too.
ReplyDeleteSocks are the best project to carry around. I've always a pair on my needles. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the yoga socks, you just gave ideas for Christmas presents :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy SOcktober! Love the stripes and the yoga socks.
ReplyDeleteLoving the socks. I'd like some of those stripy ones myself !
ReplyDeleteSocks look great! Yoga pants are magical.
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they! Most comfortable pants ever. I just wish they encouraged me to exercise.
DeleteDo you ever have trouble with your socks wearing out at the heel? Seems like every pair I've made, the bottom of the heel wears out fast. So frustrating. Do you have a fix for that, a special trick you know, to reinforce the bottom of the heel?
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie, I've only made two pairs of socks before, and I haven't worn either enough to wear the heel out. Or maybe I just move very much :) Sorry I can't be of much help, I am such a sock novice!
DeleteLove your socks.
ReplyDeleteI need to do some blog-feed clean out too.
I like the colors in those stripey socks! I do yoga but can't picture wearing socks for it... they look really neat, though!
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes, the yarn is gorgeous and I don't blame you for not wanting to 'muck it up' with colours. The idea of using the Hermione heel only is so good that I'm definitely going to steal it the next time I do self-striping socks. Thanks!
