That has nothing to do with WIP Wednesday, but I felt the need to share. On to what I've been working on.
I'm waiting the delivery of some Cotlin yarn, and until it arrives I've been filling the time. I finished my Warmth sweater last week, and I even raced through the hat I was working on. On Sunday I picked up some cotton yarn on sale, and started on some cloths. My Aunt requested some new face cloths, and I want to make some kitchen cloths for when we get moved. I really love using the homemade cotton cloths in kitchen.
Here is the first one I made:
Pattern: Circle Cloth, free on Ravelry.
Yarn: Lily Sugar and Cream I picked up for $1. I love a bargain.
Here is my WIP cloth:
Pattern: Bridal Shower Lace Cloth, free on Ravelry
Yarn: Also Lily Sugar and Cream cotton
That's all from me for now. I'll see you on Friday when I unveil my new sweater! Happy Crafting!
I haven't watched Downton - I'm not into period dramas but with all the hype I feel like I should at least give it a go ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the washcloths, I need to make some more I think
I love Downton Abbey too. I was anxiously awaiting the third season, and watched it on Sunday - then I found season 1 on Netflix and re-watched the whole thing this week...while knitting of course! Now I have to wait ever so patiently for Sunday to come around again to get the next episode on PBS.
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern in the purple cloth - I have been wanting to try that in a hat for my youngest, but it has moved to the bottom of the list - maybe next year:)
I know ... isn't it awesome!
ReplyDeleteDownton Abbey = my favorite show!!
ReplyDeleteI love that yellow!
Your washcloths are really nice, I like the pattern you have used for them :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hazel!
DeleteThe Circle Cloth is my favorite cloth to knit. I love the squishy thickness and love that you can change it with color combinations and variegated yarns. And it is a relatively quick knit!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Downton Abbey club, you are in good company. I haven't enjoyed a show that much since Arrested Development. Washcloths are so fun sometimes because they are quick, satisfying, and functional. The Circle Cloth looks like a great pattern too.
ReplyDeleteI love Downton Abbey ... I also love period dramas. Everything modern is full of cuss words and bad grammar and crashes and special effects. I much prefer bustles and hoop skirts and polite manners!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly aren't there Beth. I think that is part of why I was so excited when I watched Downton!
DeleteYour washcloths are really pretty, I love the patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteLOVE Downton Abbey. I'm in two Downton Abbey KALs. I haven't cast on for one of them yet.
ReplyDeleteDownton is AMAZING! I'm so anxious for Sundays now that it's back on. I don't ever want it to end. :-D I'm loving the stitch design in the newest cloth. it's really pretty in the yellow yarn.
ReplyDeleteI love your washcloth thank you for sharing that pattern I think I might make one or two of them.
ReplyDeleteDowntown Abbey is wonderful and really great cloths. The circle one is a great cloth I love mine one and the lace one is very pretty in the lemon.
ReplyDeleteDOWNTON!! Somehow or another, my mom, my sister, and I are hooked, as well as 3 of my coworkers. All in the short span of 2 weeks or so right after the second season finished airing on PBS.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree about using homemade cotton cloths. Except fiance always ignores the dishcloth, no matter what it's made out of.
LOL, I am sitting here watching the very first episode right now. All my knitting friends are watching it, so who am I to naysay them. Just glad one of them had the DVDs.
ReplyDeleteI love that you make your washcloths beautiful! I am planning to make a few washcloths for charity this year, so thanks for linking to the patterns!
ReplyDeleteThere is something nice about combining beauty and function :)
Deleteoh my your washcloth is beautiful! i just saw my first episode sunday night, now i may have to go back and watch from the beginning!
ReplyDeleteI am one of the few left who has not seen a minute of Downton Abbey. The hype is crazy, and it's on PBS and I LOVE supporting PBS... perhaps I should give it a go too.
ReplyDeleteEvery time you make a cotton cloth, I think I should try that. Everyone seems to love those too.
I devoured the first two seasons in one week. Honestly, I haven't been all that impressed with the first couple of episodes from this season. It hasn't been bad, just a little annoying on a couple of the story lines.
ReplyDeleteI do like your washcloths very much. Makes me want to make some more!
