The first rip back was due to the fact that when I cast off some stitches to start the sleeves the center wasn't, well, centered. And I carried on quite the thing for several rows before I decided I should actually look at what I was knitting.
The second rip back was really rather funny. You know, now. In hindsight. The sleeves have a few short rows in them, but I read the pattern wrong and did a LOT of short rows. I got some crazy cap sleeves that were really very puffy. Horrendous really. Rip rip rip and now I'm paying more attention to what I'm doing.
Sleeves gone WRONG! |
My world traveling girl, a good addition to any photo! |
I don't expect to have it done by Friday, but I need to finish it soon. My Aunt has ordered some face cloths (cotton yarn on sale at Michael's on Sunday) and I ordered some Cotlin yarn for another top. Better get busy!!
Awww, they are puffy! Too bad that wasn't what you were hoping for, they look identical. I'm sure you will be able to knit them perfectly this time!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI hate when I make mistakes as a result of not paying attention. Hopefully the sleeves behave themselves now!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous project - definitely worth persevering with it :o)
ReplyDeleteyou and I are two peas in a pod with knitting and ripping. It's good to have company :) Lovely sweater and glad you found the mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI love making sweaters and cardis, other than the sleeves!
ReplyDeleteJust popping over from Tami's decided to join in with wip's wednesdays. Really hope you get your sweater finished soon, its looking great now and those sleeves were a bit puffy!
ReplyDeleteOof. That's so frustrating. Awesome picture though! It'll be great to have side-by-side comparison shots when your (super cute!) sweater is all done and perfect. Soon. Really.
ReplyDeletePUPPY!!! Those ears! That face! I want to pick her up and give her a squeeze! OK... sorry for gushing. My brain does the same thing. But, fingers crossed, third time WILL be the charm, and you'll have this cast-off lickety-split.
ReplyDeleteI am terrible at following patterns as I always make a mistake somehow, and same as you..it is rip rip rip.
ReplyDeleteLove the pup! The sleeves would be fine, on a pint sized model. Fingers crossed for success!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I'm not the only one that does that! Gorgeous sweater though, you're so patient to rip back twice. I probably would have chucked it in the closet and tried to forget :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, don't you know that puffy sleeves are all the rage? I hope that the sweater gets back on track soon. It's looking great so far!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater is so pretty, though! It's worth it to rip back and I can totally relate. It seems as if for every project I make, I have to rip back as least once! Good luck!
