A Mother's Best Friend

I don't actually have any knitting done for this post, so instead I thought I would just show what I've been up to besides knitting.  You know, when I have to have my needles pried out of my hands.

First up, I made myself a lunch bag for work.  Look away if you are absolutely sick of me and Capri Sun pouches.  I won't blame you!!  I also made a tote bag, which has been handy for taking snacks in the car.  We also used it at the beach last weekend too.  I love that it just wipes clean, easy peasy.

I also patched a pair of the girls leggings.  Man, kids are hard on clothing!  I used scrap fabric and bondaweb--seriously a frugal mother's best friend.  I've used this time and time again to repair the girls clothing.

Not one but three separate holes.

That's it for me this week.  Hopefully I'll have another tank top to show you next Friday.

  2. I love the caprisun bags, how nifty, do you seal up the drinking hole for that?

  3. Those bags are always fun and I love the patch jobs. I do something wrong and my patches never hold the holes. Argh!

  4. You are so thrifty! Not only can you patch your girls clothing to make it look even cuter than ever, but you can also make something really functional out of old juice packets. You deserve a sustainability award!

    1. Ha ha ha, that would make it harder. I originally bought some so I could try making a bag, but the girls do love them too, so that helps.

  11. Catching up on your blog ... first congratulations on the new job! Yeah, more money and less knitting time is always a sad trade-off. The racer back tank is so cute, and very good model too. Your girls are beautiful!

  13. What a fun way to reuse those pouches. We go through several boxes of Caprisun a week, so I am definately going to make a few myself.
