A few more gifts

Here are a few gifts I finished that I haven't posted about yet.  This hat (formerly my nemesis) is a late present for a friend in California.

Yarn: Katia Azteca 7833.  I love this yarn, and I'm sorely tempted to buy another ball in this colour way for myself.  I would love a hat and cowl.

This adorable little top I knit on a whim.  I made it for a good friends new niece.   It will be included in the package with the hat above, and should be on its way across the ocean by the time you read about it!

Wool:Wendy Peter Pan DK
I am a little bit in love with this sweater.  I love all things seamless, and this really comes together nicely.  I did have some issues with the sleeves, but I think practise would make me better, so really I just need more friends to have babies!

Lastly, here is the finished ear warmer that I made for my daughters.  An odd thing here, the first one was better than the second one, which is odd, isn't it?  At any rate, they love them, so I was really pleased.

Wool: Robin fascination
When I started this pattern I thought it looked.......not great. But I stuck with it and was rewarded with a really nice ear warmer.

Check out these blog hops--go on, get your craft on!

  1. I really like the hat, it looks cosy. I always tend to make my hats to snug :(

The little top will look adorable on your little niece :)

  2. Thank you! I was wondering what to do with some left over yarn and now I know...Earwarmer! :D

Love the hat, the colours are just my kind of colours

  3. All of your projects are great. Perfect gifts. Your girls are adorable in the ear warmers. It is odd when the first turns out better than the second. I've had that happen to me too.

    Happy New Year!

  4. Hat looks fantastic. love the colours of the ear warmers. What brilliant projects!

  5. What lucky friends and family you have! Such lovely gifts! you are talented!!

  6. I love the hat too.

Sometimes my first turns out better than the second too.... I think it's because I'm too confindent from the first and don't pay enough attention on the second. ;-)

    Happy New Year!

  7. Lovely FOs today and your girls are really cute too.

    Happy New Year

  8. You are a prolific knitter, those are wonderful gifts! Best wishes and a very Happy New Year!

  9. Very pretty hat! The earwarmer/headband is great! My friend loves to knit them and sold a ton of them at craft shows this year- they make for great gifts!!

  10. I love the colors on the hat. Do you do a lot of blue knitting? Or am I having a deja vu?

  11. I love that hat---I'm glad it's no longer your nemesis, but is safely on its way (especially accompanied by the sweetest kimono-sweater ever, the white with the yellow ribbon is perfect!) to its recipient.

I love the headbands, too, such great colours.

  12. The blues in the hat are lovely. Isn't it interesting how difficult some things are to knit when they should be so simple? I believe that some yarn/pattern combos have a mind of their own. Happy New Year!

I love comments almost more than chocolate. Now that is saying something.
